Aerodigm Wealth, a new tax-strategy-focused registered investment advisor, has launched in Portland, Ore., via a management buyout of accounting firm Delap LLP’s wealth division.
Aerodigm managed about $1.5 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2025, and is focused on ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families with an emphasis on tax efficiency.
Jared C. Siegel, managing partner of Aerodigm Wealth, led the team’s move from Delap Wealth Advisory, which had been part of Oswego, Ore.-based Delap LLP. Dave DeLap, a third-generation principal of Delap LLP, is also joining Aerodigm after more than four decades at the accounting and wealth management firm.
According to a January announcement, the accounting and consulting division of Delap is going in its own new direction, having been acquired by national business advisory accounting firm Aprio in January to be merged with another greater Portland, Ore.-based firm, Stewart & Schmidt.
Aerodigm, in the meantime, will remain grounded in tax strategy by integrating tax-aware advice into portfolio allocation and multi-generational planning for clients with complex financial situations.
“Our history is rooted in tax planning, and Aerodigm’s strategy is built to meet the new paradigm in how taxable wealth compounds,“ Siegel said, noting that the firm will not do tax filing in-house, but will work closely with clients’ accountants.
Aerodigm will join a growing wave of wealth managers leaning into tax-efficient planning and investing. Earlier this year, $21 billion RIA Merit Financial Advisors acquired the wealth division of an accounting firm. Large RIAs such as Carson Group and Merit Advisors have also acquired tax-focused wealth managers in recent years.
Aerodigm’s tax strategy extends to its client base, with a particular focus on high-tax jurisdictions in the United States. It also stems in part from Siegel and the team’s accounting backgrounds.
“I have been in public accounting for the past 15 years, and about 10 years ago started an investment advisory practice and built it based upon the needs of the families we were serving, which were affluent families with concentrated wealth,” Siegel said. “We experienced a lot of success and momentum, which preceded this opportunity to ultimately acquire the firm and rebrand and scale the service offering across the country.”
Siegel said traditional advisor investment frameworks are designed for tax-exempt institutions, which don’t serve taxable investors effectively.
“For the families we work with, taxes are their largest annual expense and represent potentially the largest and often overlooked lever to impact wealth outcomes,” he said. “It’s generally not a lack of talent on people’s team, but a lack of coordination that impacts the opportunity that is available today.”
He said Aerodigm aims to deliver better results by pairing investments, portfolio allocation and estate structures with opportunities within the tax code to create efficiencies and produce risk-adjusted returns.
“The biggest threat to long-term wealth isn’t market volatility, it’s disconnected decision-making and an inefficient tax approach,” Siegel said.
