For its Arizona Auction, the first sale of 2023, RM Sotheby’s has an interesting mix of some of the greatest supercars of all time along with yesteryear classics. The line-up contains both pre- and post-war eras with a trio of supercars and a short-chassis Duesenberg.
Some of the highlights include a 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT finished in Bugatti Blueover a special-order two-tone grey leather interior, this quad-turbocharged EB110 benefits from a short ownership history reportedly consisting of just four private caretakers with an estimate ranging between $1,600,000 – $2,000,000. Another rare supercar on offer is a 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort acquired in the fall of 2021 after 29 years of single-family ownership. Presented in a desirable color combination of Grand Prix White over dark blue leather, this extensively documented Porsche comes with a numbers-matching engine and a recent service by Policaro Performance in October 2022 with an estimate ranging from $1,600,000 – $2,000,000.
The Ferrari F40 remains one of the most desirable Ferraris and a hallmark in the world of performance cars with this being a 1992 example having a short ownership history consisting of as few as two caretakers and displays 19,697 kilometers (~12,239 miles) at cataloguing. Specified for the European market and equipped with a catalytic converter, this F40 has an estimate of $2,200,000 – $2,800,000.

Some other cars include a 1990 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition by Bertone, still riding on its original tires, with fewer than 249 kilometers (155 miles) shown at time of cataloguing plus a 1953 Fiat 8V Coupe by Ghia. The other talked about car is the 1931 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Sedan by LeBaron – Formerly owned by the Petersen Automotive Museum and Aaron Weiss, this Model J presents very rare coachwork on the short-wheelbase chassis. This Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Full Classic is Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD) Certified.

Modern hypercars are also there with a La Ferrari from 2004, a 1965 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti and a 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV by Bertone. In total there are 15 cars with estimates at or over $1M.
