Deus Vayanne Electric Hypercar debuts at New York Auto Show

Auto shows are about the glitz and glamour hence, this time, it’s a brand new electric hypercar that has graced the stands at the New York Auto show. Meet the Deus Vayanne hypercar that promises to infuse luxury with Bugatti baiting performance.

This hypercar has been created with Italdesign as its partner along with Williams Advanced Engineering. Names like these add weight to the Vayanne and a cursory glance at the numbers it makes also supports that. With a ‘predicted’ power of more than 2,200 horsepower (1,640 kW), over 2,000 Nm (1,475 lb-ft) of torque, and a top speed of more than 400 km/h (248 mph) and 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) achieved in under 1.99 seconds, the Vayanne stands up with the fastest of gas/electric powered hypercars like the Rimac and the Chirons along with the Koenigseggs too. However, along with performance, the Vayanne also promises a modicum of practicality with a claimed ground clearance of 12 cm (4.7 inches) and useable storage space. It is also a striking design with a variety of slashes and curves all in the right places. The continuous rear lights are also a part of the visual theatre in which this car readily excels. 

That said, it does lack the visual shock appeal that is seen with the otherworldly designs of Koenigsegg while also looking similar to the Lotus Evija from the rear. However, it is undeniably a good-looking car within the hypercar design rulebook. Inside, the agenda was to create a hypercar with also some GT trappings. The cabin design is futuristic along with a fully digital driver display. There is a lot of LED lighting being used along with what seems like a crystal gear lever. The interior also has been created by being completely green aka being made with sustainable materials including natural leather. There seems to be more interior space than other hypercars with a more upright driving position. DEUS is also the first in the automotive industry to implement the Halo Infinity mirror throughout a vehicle’s interior. This design feature as applied in the DEUS Vayanne is vital to carrying over DEUS’ infinity theme from the production-oriented hypercar concept’s exterior to its interior. The production version of the Vayanne will be limited to a series of 99 units, with the first delivery in 2025. Overall, this is a hypercar that is not just destined for the race track but also for long-distance touring albeit with a rocket launcher strapped at the back!
